in the United States. Based in Los Angeles California, the company works through its 18,000 employees in 41 states
to provide services to over 15 million policy holders.
Founded in 1928 to provide only automobile insurance, the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies quickly worked to meet demand
for more home and commercial insurance needs, creating the Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange.
Also, as a provider of insurance management services, the Farmers Underwriters Association acts as attorneys-in-fact for its
three inter-insurance exchanges.
Further, Farmers Insurance, works as a holding company of the Farmers New World Life Insurance Company and, in March 2000,
acquired Foremost Insurance Company, the industry leader in specialty dwelling insurance.
